Dear Mr. Jackson / Ms. Hammer,

I am a fan of the Scifi Channel's wonderfully imaginative show 'Farscape', and I am deeply saddened by its cancellation. One of the things that makes 'Farscape' great is its story arc. If you truly cut the show short after season four, many threads of its story will never be resolved and you may alienate a great number of your viewers. If it is true that the Scifi Channel cares about the show, as many press releases and statements of various members of the management have led me to believe, I think you should consider making the first four seasons available to other networks that might be willing and able to produce a fifth season. This would give the show a chance to find a satsifying end despite the Scifi Channel'sfinancial difficulties.

Also, you should consider rerunning the first four seasons in the months before the last eleven episodes will air. This will increase the audience for those last eleven episodes, since it will make it possible for new viewers to get into the story, and this in turn would probably make it easier for the Scifi Channel to make a really profitable deal with another network.

Farscape has been hailed The Best Science Fiction Show On TV by various magazines. Since you are the SCI FI Channel, shouldn't you be proud to call it one of your own?

I completely fail to understand why you have canceled this excellent show.

Farscape has got action, humor, romance, intelligent storytelling, character development, great actors and fantastic special effects. In short, it is far from being your ordinary TV entertainment. And therefore it has created a huge and loyal fanbase, which I believe, you might have noticed in the past few days.

I learnt about the cancelation on the internet. One online petition has already gathered more than 30.000 signatures. The Save Farscape campaign made it to CNN and various newspapers. And it doesn't make me wonder one bit.

If anything is worth saving, then it is Farscape.

Farscape is a cult show. Don't make a mistake here.

Head writer David Kemper knows how to end the Farscape story. And since we're not talking Star Trek here, the overall story arc still requires lots of development until the end is near. Farscape deserves at least another 22 episodes.

why did you choose not to pick up the option for season 5? After all the suspence of whether we'd even get season 4, why now when we all thought it was safe? What made you change your mind?

We thought Farscape was SciFi's flag ship. We thought the ratings were stable. Why now when the channel was so heavily advertising the SciFi Friday?

Why did you cancel it now when it had just received a Saturn Award for Best Show?

Why now when there was a Farscape computer game released just a few weeks ago? Why now when fans were buying tickets for the next big convention tour?

And most of all, why, when fans were told that the SciFi channel's employees were huge Farscape fans as well..

The saddest thing is because you canceled the show without giving the writers any notice Farscape will end with a cliffhanger. Farscape deserves a chance to tie up loose ends!

Why did you give the cast and crew only a few days notice before they became unemployed?

If you won't change your mind, please consider selling the rights for the first four seasons to another network so it may be willing to let this fantastic show continue.

There needs to be a TV show out there that is so different from other shows and so entertaining in it's own unique way.

Farscape is one of those rare shows that instantly create a huge fanbase with fans absolutely in love with it like they never were with any other show before.

You don't only destroy Farscape but the families that are the cast/crew and all fans worldwide as well.

You leave many of us in tears. But we will fight, we won't give this show up so easily.
